Sustainable Place Conference 2022
Representatives from the HIGFLY project participated in the Sustainable Places Conference 2022. The conference was a hybrid event held online and in person in Nice, France between 6th – 9th September.
Sustainable Places is an event that focuses on the dissemination of research, clustering and networking between EU funded projects and stakeholders and includes several keynote speakers, technical and paper sessions, workshops, poster exhibitions and pitching sessions. The central themes of this year´s conference were:

- Digitalization, Smartness & Artificial Intelligence
- Facilitating the energy transition: Policy, Finance, Training
- Sustainable Urban Renewal & Cultural Transformation

HIGFLY researchers participated in the “Low-TRL Renewable Energy Technologies Workshop” which was designed to bring together EU funded research and innovation projects dealing with the development of renewable energy technologies still at a low Technology Readiness Level (TRL 3-4) to discuss their progress and results to date and potential synergies and opportunities for collaboration.
In addition, Karla Dussan from Work Package 3 leaders TNO, gave a presentation titled “Jet fuel production from biobased molecules via catalytic condensation” at the Renewable Energy Technologies Paper Session. The presentation detailed the scope of the HIGFLY project, the approach to jet fuel production and the research being conducted into catalyst selection and development and continuos flow testing.
